I’ve known the McDonald’s for over 10 years, they are always so gracious and a joy to be around. Earlier this summer, I went to their family home where I got to meet the newest addition of the family, baby Violet. She was just weeks old when these photos were taken. Have a look!
Recently, I applied for a job with Cresco Labs as a photographer. To make myself standout, I created images featuring their products and included them with my application. Still haven’t heard back about the job, but I love these images so much I couldn’t wait to share them.
These photographs were created in my home studio using natural light for the first photo and off camera flash for the last 3. My friend Matt served as a model and contributor. Take a look and let me know what you think in the comments!
Elopements hold a special place in my heart, as my husband and I eloped a little over a year ago. When Brittany asked if I could document her and Tony's elopement at Chicago's City Hall, I was thrilled! We ended up adventuring and taking pictures all around downtown. It was fun to hear the many "congratulations" from passerbys. Brittany and Tony even got to hop in a firetruck and honk the horn! Check out this city filled elopement!
On a rainy Sunday in June, my husband and I drove to Schaumburg to do a family photoshoot with one of his oldest friends, Chris DeRoo. Brian has known Chris since they were maybe 5 years old? He's also known Chris's wife, Megan, since high school as Chris & Megan were high school sweethearts. They now have two beautiful boys and are in the process of relocating to St. Louis. Their youngest son, Henry, just turned one, so we added a cake smash to the session. Take a look!
Maggie & Em. Where to begin? I am so honored to be photographing the wedding of these two stellar women, next month. Let's just say the world is a better place with this power couple. We took these engagement photos on a chilly, Spring day around Montrose Harbor. Take a look and try not to fall in love.
Memorial Day
in Oshkosh, WI
After a cool 3 hour drive from Chicago, we made it to Brian’s cousin’s house in Oshkosh, WI. It was Memorial Day weekend and technically our first anniversary. We decided to spend the weekend with Ashley (Brian’s cousin) and her husband Jeff. Practically newlyweds themselves, they just purchased their first home, where Brian and I hadn’t yet been.
Upon arrival, we were greeted with enthusiasm and a plethora of drink options.
After a tour of the house and some strong cocktails we turned our attention to this chest of Grandma’s.
It was full of vintage clothes & accessories from Grandma’s life. She wore this blue dress to her daughter’s wedding.
Some of the clothes had notes attached stating their significance.
We tried some on.
And threw away others. Like these pajamas. Uncle Glen died in them. Gross.
There was this incredible kimono. Sadly, it did not have a note attached.
Then we went out on the town to scope the local scene. Brian kept it classy.
Jeff & Brian
Ashley’s friend Erin met up with us.
Then we went to another bar. This one had a beer garden and the best ambient lighting for my Sony camera.
We took a lot of pictures.
The next morning.
Ashley & Sophie.
Lunch on the water, because you know, Wisconsin.
Sadly, my beautiful, new Sony digital camera got knocked off the table at this restaurant. It is not currently working. I don’t want to talk about it.
We stopped at a greenhouse thinking it would have a variety of plants for great prices (because we’re from Chicago).
It did not, but we got some great pics… with our iphones… sigh…
The local dog park is weird.
Hit up a local shop. Bought some wine, for the label of course.
Downtown Oshkosh.
Sushi restaurant.
Comical downtown window display.
After dinner drinks.
And dessert.
I used to live on Wilson and like this tile.
The night ended with a game of Trivial Pursuit.
Got McDonald’s breakfast on our way back to the city. They gave me a free coffee! It deserved a photo.
We had to hit up an antique shop before we left.

Earlier this month, I went to Los Angeles to take engagement photos of my friends Nick & Erica. Check 'em out!
May 11, 2018 EDIT:
The original contents of this post have been removed so they can be added to a zine I'm creating! The zine will cover our 9 day adventure through China & Thailand. It will include long prose and a multitude of photographs. If you would like a copy of the zine comment with your email address below. Until then, here are a few photos taken on our Asian adventure.
Tomorrow, my husband and I leave for a 9 day adventure in Asia- specifically, Macau, Hong Kong & Bangkok. We are so excited! We are going to see our good friend Shaunessy who is living in Macau. For those unfamiliar, Macau is a part of China and just a short boat ride away from Hong Kong. We figure there's no better time to explore a new country than when you have a close friend living there!
We plan to stay in China a few days before heading over to Bangkok, Thailand. Once there, we're meeting up with a cousin of mine I haven't seen since I was 3! After a few days in Thailand, our friend Shaunessy is going to meet up with us in Bangkok. He has friends in the city that wants to show us around. It is going to be quite the adventure! Can't wait to share some incredible photos with you, but this will have to do for now!
Back in December my friend Brian contacted me to schedule a shoot for holiday cards. He and his wife don't send out cards for Christmas, instead they send out Pulaski Day cards! Cute, right? Brian had a clear vision of what he wanted. An American Gothic inspired image of a couple making pierogies for Pulaski Day. We did the shoot in their kitchen in Brookfield. Take a look at the final image!
This week, the Laura Suprenant Photography team (which comprises of me and sometimes my husband) have been shooting portraits in their HOME studio! Yes, that's right, a photography studio, in my home. And yes, it is as exciting as it sounds. Finally, we have a large space with tools and lights and white walls and enough natural light to make you swoon. The studio is a work in progress, evolving more and more as we continue to do photoshoots. Keep checking in to see our progress!
When my cousin asked if I could take he and his fiancee's engagement photos, I was beyond excited. It is such a joy to do what I love with friends and family. We decided to do the shoot at our Grandparent's farm. Michael knew the perfect spot, between the corn fields, next to the creek. We got there right as the sun was setting, creating a magical backdrop for our session. Check out this sun soaked photo shoot with Michael, Hayley and their dog Gracie.

Congrats to all the newly engaged couples! The holidays are a wonderful time to get engaged. Prior to my engagement last Christmas, I thought the idea of a holiday engagement seemed cliche. However, after it happened, I had a huge change of heart. I was so grateful this once in a lifetime moment occurred when family was in town. We were able to celebrate together and I could feel their love and see the excitement in their eyes.
In honor of holiday engagements, we are offering $100 off all engagement packages booked now through February 28. Which means, engagement sessions now start at $250! *jaw drop* To book your session and find out more about engagement packages, contact me. I can't wait to celebrate this special time with you!

These are outtakes from a pre-shoot photoshoot featuring me, my husband, my sister, Joanne the cat and my Grandparents farm. Taken in mid-December and edited with Phil Chester presets, these photos have a real aged, moody feel. Check them out.
This is the second year I've had the privilege to capture holiday photos of the Drake family. Conor, their oldest boy, chose to have the shoot at the Garfield Park Conservatory. Take a look at our afternoon in this stunning Chicago greenhouse.
A big thank you to our families who participated in this year's holiday mini sessions! Take a look at what we created...
Happy holidays!
My friends had a baby! His name is Benjamin Craig and he's perfect. He was given the name Craig to honor his Grandfather. Check out these moments I captured with Chris, Kristin and baby Benjamin.
Take a look at this extended family session done at Walton Island in Elgin. The models are my beautiful sister-in-law and her wonderful family.
